The Scatter Plot template (click to download) can be used for the following purposes:
- Visualize the relationship of two metrics for up to 30 securities at a time
- Compare securities risk vs return, historical valuation vs return, among others
Below is an example section of the Model Portfolio Comparison report:
How it works
1. Enter the Securities
On the "Data (INPUT)" tab, enter securities in the cells highlighted blue in column B.
2. Edit the Metrics
On the "Data (INPUT)" tab, click on cells D2 & E2 and then the respective dropdown in the cell to change between listed metrics.
3. Add a Metric to the Dropdown
On the "Data (INPUT)" tab, you have the ability to add metrics to the dropdown that are not currently listed. To do so, scroll to the last metric code in column D and type the wanted metric code below the last metric code currently listed. Then in column E, type the name of the metric code that you'd like displayed.
Note, the easiest way to find a metric code will be searching for the metric code in our Complete Reference Guide.
4. Print or Save the report as a PDF
First, click the "Scatter Plot" tab to view the report. To print or save the report as a PDF, click the File button. Select Print or Export to save as a PDF.
*PLEASE NOTE: Do not delete or add any rows in the spreadsheet. Only delete the contents within a cell. This will ensure the spreadsheet will calculate all the data properly.
